TECS Security
ILTO implements strict security protocols to protect the integrity of TECS results and certificates. Through its Fraud Prevention Office (FPO), it has developed technical and operational strategies that guarantee a secure assessment environment and reliable results for institutions.
User identity verification
On the day of the evaluation, the user must upload a photograph to the system as part of the identity verification process. In addition, an official photo ID must be presented. These measures help prevent identity impersonation and ensure the authenticity of the evaluation process.
Secure certifying centers
ILTO promotes the partnership of institutions that demonstrate adequate security conditions, control, and compliance with standards for administering the TECS exam, operating as authorized certifying centers.
During the evaluation session, users may not bring electronic devices such as voice recorders, cameras, mobile phones, tablets, USB drives, or others that allow recording content or establishing external communication. Sessions are monitored by authorized evaluators, who provide technical support when needed and maintain active surveillance against any potential irregular behavior.
Anomaly Detection
ILTO performs permanent statistical analysis of results to identify potential anomalies. An anomaly is considered any significant deviation from usual patterns, including:
- Marked differences between evaluated skills
- Inconsistencies in the global level of linguistic competence
Results analysis and verification
ILTO reserves the right to contact the user to perform additional identity or performance verifications, especially in speaking skills, when technical analysis indicates potential irregularities. Likewise, ILTO may revoke a certificate or request re-taking the exam at a different certifying center in order to confirm the validity of the results.
If repeated anomaly patterns or indications of fraud are detected at a certifying center, ILTO may conduct additional audits and, if necessary, terminate the corresponding institutional relationship.
Fraud Prevention Code (FPC)
All TECS certificates include a Fraud Prevention Code (FPC), which can be entered on the official ILTO website to verify authenticity and prevent score or identity alterations.
Content updates and randomization
Exam items, previously validated and calibrated, are updated periodically to prevent undue memorization of content. The TECS system incorporates a randomization algorithm that significantly reduces the probability of a user interacting with the same item more than once.
Record of potential fraud cases
The administrative panel includes a tool to verify whether a person has been previously linked to irregular conduct, by querying their ID number or full name. ILTO encourages partner institutions to report potential fraud cases through this official mechanism.
